Dinner + Dessert @ Indianapolis

Our friends asked us out for dinner on Sat night. Hence we drove over to their house to pick them up so that we could all go in one car to Indy. We saw that he had put up some decorations outside his house and got out to take photos of it while waiting for them to come out. =p Then we drove a little around the neighbourhood to see decorations outside other houses. Some of them really made an effort to decorate their houses and it was a pretty sight! All these deocorations were put up for the festive season... =)

We had dinner at India Palace, a restaurant which was the 1st visit for all of us. We had initially decided to have dinner at King Wok but changed venue last minute. India Palace was a restaurant recommended by our friend's friends and we decided to give it a try. It was across the road from King Wok.

We were served this Indian snack when we were seated and I think it is called papadum. We loved this! Probably we were all hungry... =p

Mango Lassi which all of us ordered... =)

Appetizers that we shared - Samosas (Crisp triangular patties stuffed with peas and potatoes cooked with spices and deep fried) and Paneer pakora (Pieces of homemade cheese, dipped in chick-pea batter and deep fried)...

YH had the House Special Biryani (Classic Muglai dish of curried chicken, lamb, shrimp, paneer, and vegetables in rice) while I had Tandoori Chicken (Chicken marinated in yogurt with spices and grilled in Tandoor oven). The Tandoori Chicken was nice! YH orderd his Biryani hot (you could choose mild, medium or hot) and it was too spicy for me! =( Hence I only ate a mouthful of the Biryani...

After dinner we drove to Cheesecake Factory for dessert!! =)

Cheesecakes that our friends had - Original and Red Velvet Cheesecake... The slice of Red Velvet Cheescake was "taller" than all of ours... =p

I had Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake (Layers of Flourless Godiva Chocolate Cake, Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse). YH had the 30th anniversary Cheesecake (Layers of Original Cheesecake, Fudge Cake and Chocolate Truffle Cream). Both were really delicious!! =)

We were a little unhappy with our server as he came over and asked us if we needed boxes when we had only just started eating our cheesecake... And he asked again a little while later when it was obvious we were still eating...

We asked for some dinner rolls too and the brown coloured bread was rather nice! =)

We sat and chat in the restaurant for really long that night and were there till they were closed... =p
