Christmas Eve in Indianapolis

We went to Indy for Christmas Eve... First, we went to buy tickets for the Avatar IMAX 3D movie... Then we drove to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis as it was a free day... =p Lots of people were there as well as the parking garage was full...

The entrance where there's a huge dinosaur...

There were lots of kids in the museum. Slide looks fun but we did not queue as the line was very long...

The words "BARBIE" were filled with barbie dolls!

Fireworks of Glass - a 43 feet tall tower of blown glass!

Miniature homes exhibit, some of them were really detailed...

Then we viewed the exhibition on Barbie and there were lots of Barbie dolls!

These were life-size dolls... The outfits were designed by various designers in 2009 response to a fashion challenge by Mattel asking designers to create a one-of-a-kind outfit inspired by Barbie. Models then wore these outfits at a New York runway show - a salute to Barbie doll's 50th anniversary...

Barbie dolls dressed in various outfits!

Bella and Edward from Twilight are friends of Barbie too... =p

Swarovski covered Barbie in crystals, in honor of the doll's 50th anniversary!

Exhibition showcasing G.I. Joe figures...

We also visited the exhibition showing life in Egypt...

Some of the exibits - rugs and musical instrucments

Very nicely decorated items...

My attempt to emboss designs of a strip of silver paper...

Very nice doll houses!!

There's also a Carousel which we did not ride as you need to pay extra... =p

This is a Water Clock, which really shows the time, very interesting!

Then it was back to the cinema for the movie...

The big screen and me wearing with 3D glasses...

The movie was great!! But we agreed that it was because of the 3D effects that made everything looked very nice, the storyline was just average only... We had no problems with the 3D glasses, no nausea or headache or any form of discomfort... Quite lucky... =)

After the movie, we went to Asian Mart for some grocery shopping... Then it was dinner at 8 China Buffet...

Us in the restaurant with our 1st plate of food... YH smiling happily as he can get his dose of seafood... =p

The food spread... Our conclusion about this place is that the food is not that great but it is a cheap place to get your dose of seafood especially crab legs...

After dinner, we drove to downtown to take a look at the lighted Soldiers & Sailors monument...
\
Some photos of me... It was very cold due to the wind...

The monument circle area...

Very cute Christmas lights on this building... The Christmas tree is lighted level by level and then disappears... Very nice!!

Very colourful Christmas tree inside a building...

There's even a gingerbread house window display...

Then we drove home as there was nothing else to do... Guess we would have to go to big cities for the festive mood... =p
