We made some water chestnut cake last night. It was a last minute decision as we realized the half packet of water chestnut flour we had was nearing it expiry date... =p
The mixture is opaque before steaming and transparent after steaming. We had to use a few containers to steam all the mixture and ended up with enough water chestnut cake that lasted us for a few days... =p
This time, we tried another of eating the water chestnut cake, pan-frying it with a batter comprising of equal amount of rice flour and flour. In the end, we loved this pan-fried version more as the batter made it a little crispy! We ended up pan-frying most of the water chestnut cake... =)
