County Line Orchard @ Hobart

We went apple picking at County Line Orchard on Saturday. After much consideration, we decided on County Line Orchard over Anderson Orchard as we wanted to try a new place... =p We almost could not find the place as it was much further down the road then the location shown on our GPS. Luckily, we kept on driving! =p

First, we went to get our tickets. It is $1 for general admission and more if you want to do stuff like maze or kid's farm...

Then, we went for the tractor ride. You could take the tractor to various stops or actually walk as they are quite near.

Us on board the tractor...

We got down at the first stop and started picking at Church Field which had Fuji, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious apples. Though there were Fuji signs, we did not see any apples available for picking. Therefore, we started by picking Red Delicious apples...

Next, we moved on to pick Golden Delicious apples... Quite a lot of Golden Delicious apples available too...

Then, we left Church Field and decided to walk instead of taking the tractor... We passed this part which had a sign "Wedding Arch". I guessed it is the place weddings are held...

Then, we saw Fuji Field and went Fuji apple picking...

After that, we continued exploring the place and saw a sunflower patch with u-pick sunflowers...
Some of the sunflowers were really tall and big!

We each chose a sunflower stalk and posed with it! =p

Beside the sunflowers was the Pumpkin Patch...

Smaller pie pumpkins which we thought of buying but did not...

Then, we went back to the Main Field area... Not much apples at the Main Field. Think should be that it is nearest to the barn so most of the apples had already been picked...
We went into the barn to look at the stuff being sold. This is a new building, opened only this year...
View of the interior from the second level...
Quite many stuff were being sold - donuts (many people raved about them online), pies, apple cider, various preservers and butter, gelato, etc... These were the donuts and the shelves cleared very fast...

We went to get our donuts from the donut counter as we wanted mixed dozen - apple cinnamon and pumpkin! Lots of people were buying their donuts and we cannot wait to try them! =p
These were our box of donuts and they are really awesome! We loved the apple cinnamon one more as the pumpkin version was a tad too sweet for us. Yummy!! =)

Outside the barn there were lots of pumpkins of all sorts and sizes for sale...

Mums (which are actually Chrysanthemums) for sale too...
Us posing with the pumpkin house...

There's also a picnic area where there were food stalls...

In conclusion, the size of County Line Orchard is really much smaller than Anderson Orchard and the number of trees are definitely lesser. Hence, the number of available apples to pick are much lesser. For apple-picking, I would prefer Anderson Orchard as there are lots of apples to pick. It was more fun! Furthermore, it is cheaper too as we really had a big bag of apples last year. This year we had lesser apples but paid more. =( Think we prefer the apple cider from Anderson Orchard too. However, County Line Orchard had really good donuts! It is a nice little place too, more commercialized than Anderson as there were more activities available. Nevertheless, we still had a great time on Saturday!! =)
