PSSA Food Fest + Shaukin Indian Fast Food

We went to PSSA Food Fest held at University Lutheran Church.

We had Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak.

Then, we joined our friends for lunch at Shaukin Indian Fast Food. We had been to this place once quite some time ago but have never visited it since it moved to West Lafayette.

Based on recommendations from our friends, we decided to try some of the street food, things which we never had before. This is what we ordered to share between the 2 of us.

This is the Chaat Platter, which is a combination patter and perfect for trying out different items. It consists of the following items:
  • Sev Puri (Flat crunchy puri with potatoes, onions, spices, and chutney garnished with cilantro and sev)
  • Bhel Puri (Mix of puffed rice, puri and sev, served with potatoes, onions and chutneys)
  • Dahi Puri (Puri with lentils, potatoes, onions, chutneys topped with yogurt and sev)
  • Papdi Chaat (Small crunchy chips topped with chickpeas, onions, potatoes, chutneys and yogurt)
  • Dahi Vada Lentil based savory balls layered with yogurt and spices for a sweet and tangy flavor

Another thing we had was Chole Tikki, which is spiced potato patty topped with piping hot chick peas, onions and chutneys.

We also had Dabeli, and according to the menu, it is a famous spicy snack made from potatoes, 3 chutneys garnished with roasted nuts.

We also ordered a Chickoo Milkshake, which tasted quite nice and even I liked it! =)

It was a little too much for the both of us as although the portions looked small, it was actually rather filling. The food was quite nice, and we were happy that we tried them. However, I did find some items a little too spicy for my! =p
