Homemade Barbecue Pork (肉干)

Since CNY is coming we decided we will make some bak kwa this year to satisfy our craving... Hence, I went to search online and found a recipe that was quite simple to follow and had many good reviews... We had bought all the required ingredients and embarked on the project just now after dinner...

First, was to mix the ground pork with the seasonings till it was a gluey texture... YH did the mixing... =p

Then we placed some ground pork on a piece of parchment paper, covered it with cling wrap and rolled it...

After that we placed it into the oven to bake it. This was the tricky part as we had to bake it in stages at different temperatures. We also realised if we placed the meat on the lower rack in our oven it will burn more... =(

The finished bak kwa!! Our 1st batch was a little too hard and when we reduced the baking time a little for the 2nd batch it was better... To our surprise it tasted rather nice!! =) We now know what to do when we crave for it... However our 1lb of ground pork only resulted in a small container and we had to eat it sparingly... But we should be making more as this was only a test... =p
