Chicago Trip - Day 4

We checked out of our hotel earlier and went to Chinatown...

We had dim sum brunch at Pheonix restaurant... As usual it was crowded as it was Sunday and we just walked around Chinatown after getting our queue number...

The 3 of them smiling happily with the chicken feet in their spoon... They liked it so much to even order a 2nd plate! As I was the only one that do not eat it, I decided to take this photo of them enjoying it... =p

After the meal we walked around Chinatown a little and did some grocery shopping to stock up on some stuff that are cheaper there... Plus we stocked up on the huge frozen baos... =p This is a nicely decorated wall in Chinatown...

The guys still had room for more food and decided to eat at Great Wall... YH and his 三宝饭 that includes roast duck, BBQ pork and chicken... =p

After the meal we went to get a bubble tea each at Joy Yee to drink in the car but we forgot to take photos of it... I had cantaloupe freeze with tapioca pearls and YH had almond milk tea with tapioca pearls... Nice!! =)

On the drive back we stopped at Merrillville for a break... There happened to be an event going on there, it was the Model A Restorer's Club (MARC) National Meet. The Model "A" Restorers Club (MARC), founded in 1952, holds as its aims the encouragement of members to acquire, restore, preserve and exhibit the Model "A" Ford. And most importantly, to enjoy the fellowship of other Model "A" Ford owners around the world. No wonder they so many of such cars parked in the carkpark and they are really cute and nicely maintained! We could not help walking around the carpark to look at the cars and take photos of them... They are each unique in their own way... =p

Some of the cars had a box like this at the back which I guess acts as the trunk of the car...

Below are photos of some interesting ones... This is like a mini bus!!

These are truck like and some are sheltered...

These are open air vehicles without a roof...

This car has a fishing rod that extends from the front over its roof to the back...

Us taking photos with some of the cars...

It seems we were trasported back to the past in the carpark as there are quite a number of cars and it is cute to see them park side by side... =p

After the tour of the carpark, we continued with our drive home... There was a rather bad jam on I-65 and we were stuck for quite a while... When we arrived back at West Lafayette, the only open and not going to close soon restaurant that still serves dinner is McDonalds and we had our late late dinner there... Prior to that we tried A&W and Long John Silver's, Wendy's, Nine Irish Brothers and Triple X which were either closed or going to close very soon or do not serve dinner already... =p
