Brown County State Park

Last week, we went to Brown County State Park to view its fall foliage. We set off early in the morning (around 6:30am) as it was a 2 hours plus drive there. These pics were taken on our drive there. The trees are looking nice! =)

The sign for the park...
Driving along the road inside Brown County State Park...
Stopping at the first vista to have a look... Quite nice but the early morning sun makes taking photos difficult! Basically we just drove around and just stopped at various vistas or lookout points to have a look...

Our next stop was the fire tower. This fire tower was part of a network of towers that once protected Indiana...
We climbed up the tower and this is the view from the top...

Can you spot me on the tower? =p

We also stopped at the Nature Center and went in to take a look at the exhibits. This is the view from the amphitheater near the Nature Center...

Then we embarked on a trail that leads to Strahl Lake. It states that the trail is half a mile but we were sure it seemed longer as it took us about half an hour to reach the lake. We almost gave up and wanted to make our way back as the trail seemed to lead to nowhere. Nice view along the way as the trees were prettier the further we went along the trail! =) Glad that we wore our hiking shoes as the terrain was not very easy to walk on...
Quite a few steps which was easy for now but tiring on the way back...
Finally, we reached Strahl Lake which is really pretty with the reflection! =)
The trees surrounding the lake was a pretty shade of colours - red, orange, yellow and green! We followed the 0.75 mile trail round the lake taking in the beautiful sights... =)

More lovely trees in the morning sun...

Love this 2 pictures! =)

More pics of the lake...

After walking around the lake, we made our way back to the Nature Center. The hike is now more challenging as it was uphill! =(
The steps that I dreaded as I hated climbing...

Yippee!! I finally made it to the end!! =) And here's tired looking me...

After that, we stopped at another vista...

The pretty shade of colours that lined the main road...

The bare tree really stood out among the other colourful trees! =p
Enjoy the following pics of the main road...

Another lake at Brown County State Park - Ogle Lake. This is much bigger than the other lake and lots of people were there. Similarly, we walked the trail around the lake which is 1.5 miles...

More pics of the trees along the trail - enjoy!

Yeah! We finally finished the trail... =)

This stretch of road had really pretty trees! Love the colours!! =)

The trees along the road surrounding Ogle Lake and Hesitation Point had really nice colours! =)

After visiting the North Lookout Tower, we left Brown County State Park. Overall, we liked the park and its fall foliage is really pretty! It is really worth to visit during fall and we could understand why many people visit the park during this period... =) Too bad quite a lot of leaves were on the ground, probably due to the strong wind and dry weather. It would be perfect if all the leaves were on the trees and all changed colour! But I guess nothing's perfect! =p
