Celebration Dinner

We made pork ribs for our dinner... Followed an online recipe for the ribs... First we had to blanch the ribs then simmer it in the sauce till it is tender. Then we had to put the ribs in the oven while basting it with the sauce at intervals till the ribs are brown...

The ribs with some mash potato... The ribs did not really turn out as expected but it still tasted not bad... Will try to improve it the next time or maybe experiment with another recipe as we still have leftover ribs... These are only half of what we bought as the ribs here is one huge slab...

The wine we had after dinner... We bought this bottle at Meijer for only about USD4... It was cheap so we decided to buy it to try. The alcohol content is around 6% and tasted not bad, though it smelled was a little weird... We felt that it tasted a little like champagne... =p

We also made some green tea ice-cream as the dessert for our celebration dinner... It is actually not difficult to make. However it requires 3 egg yolks so it is not so healthy after all... =( Here's the process of the ice-cream making. The ingredients are green tea powder, sugar, egg yolks, milk and cream...

Here's me heating the mixture...

And this is the final product after freezing for hours in the freezer!! It is actually tasted rather nice... =) But it was a little too sweet as our whipped cream was already sweetened so we should have reduced the amount of sugar added which we forgot. Will do that the next time... =p
