HuHot Mongolian Grill @ Lafayette

Today is Friday and we met our friends for dinner at HuHot Mongolian Grill. We were considering to either go to Legend Buffet or HuHot Mongolian Grill but, in the end, we chose HuHot Mongolian Grill as we had never been there before.

The restaurant basically provides a get-someone-to-stir-fry-for-you buffet. You go to the counter, choose your ingredients in a small bowl and pour a wide selection of sauces. After that, you line up to get it cook. (For our case, as we went on a Fri evening, we queued for about 20 mins.) After the queuing, you pass your bowl of food to the cooks (not chefs) and get to see the cooks playing (cooking) with your food. I estimated that about 10% of my precious food (precious because of the long waiting time) was lost during the stir-frying and another 5-10% was lost during the scooping of the cooked food onto a plate. Below is the process:
And each person get to choose a salad or soup for dinner. Wendy chose to have Asian Salad while I had HuHot & Sour Soup.

Here are other combinations of food we took. What do you expect? Of course, all of them does look similar.

Basically, we don't see anything special about the food. Not very impressed unless they start serving crabs (not imitation crab meat) and maybe durians.
