2009 Road Trip Day 9 - Cleveland and Dayton

We set off to explore downtown Cleveland in the morning before checking out of our hotel... This is the Cleveland Trust Building which is formerly the HQ of the Cleveland Trust Company (bank)...

Tower City Center/Terminal Tower where the Visitors Center is located...

Old Federal Building which held US Post Office, Custom House and Courthouse... It is used today as a courthouse..

Old Stone Church which is the oldest existing downtown church... It was built 1853-1857...

Arc Lamp which replaced gas lighting on Public Square April 29, 1979 - the 1st successful use of electric street lights in the world...

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is the only museum of its kind dedicated to the history of Rock and Roll music..

Then we headed back to our hotel, checked out and drove off... Our next stop was Dayton which was on our route home... We went to the Aviation Trail Visitor Center and Museum...

The right photo shows an exhibit on The Wright Brothers' Glider... The top is the 1902 Wright Glider, the middle is the 1901 Wright Glider and the bottom is the 1900 Wright Glider...

Ejection seat which is an F-16 variant of the ACES II (Advanced Concept Ejection Seat) used in most front line United States Air Force combat aircraft...

The Wright Cycle Company building consisting of the Wright brothers' printing and bicycle shops...

Then we walked to view the location where the Wright family's house used to be... The actual house is no longer in Dayton but the original buildings still exist and are well preserved... The house and the workshop were bought by Henry Ford in 1936 and moved them to his outdoor museum of American innovators (Greenfield Village)...


Then we continued with the drive back home... We stopped by Sakura at Indy for dinner...

The food was nice and we were happy after our meal... =) This concludes the end of our road trip for May 2009 and it is time for home sweet home...
