Chicago Trip - Day 2 - Rest of the Day

After the parade we had a quick lunch at Subway. We shared a foot long Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki...

Then we visited Millennium Park...
This is the Crown Fountain. 2 towers made up of transparent glass block bricks stand at either end of a long, black granite plaza. Behind the glass bricks are high-tech LED video screens and when the screens are illuminated, thye show the faces of nearly a thousand individual Chicagoans. Water is supposed to be sprouting out from the person's mouth but it was missing when we were there, as you can see it in the photos. Guess it is because of winter that water is missing from these towers. Well I will just have to visit them again in the other seasons.

Cloud Gate, which is dubbed by residents as "The Bean". The sculpture is the work of world-renowned artist Anish Kapoor and the total cost was $23 million, which was considerably more than the original estimate of $6 million. Cloud Gate is a highly-polished reflective steel sculpture that is meant to resemble a drop of mercury hovering at the point of landing on a plaza of the park. The curved, mirror-like surface of the sculpture provides striking reflections of visitors, the city skyline and the sky...

McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, a free public outdoor ice skating rink that operates during mid-November until mid-March. For the rest of the year, it serves as Plaza at Park Grill or Park Grill Plaza, Chicago's largest outdoor dining facility.

Then we made a short visit to the Chicago Cultural Center...

The Tiffany glass dome in Preston Bradley Hall. The body of the dome has a “fish scale” pattern. The center, called the oculus, shows the signs of the zodiac.
More nice stuff...

Next it is the subway ride to Belmont where Comedy Sportz is located.

We watched a comedy show whereby 2 teams battle for laughs and points as they make up scenes, games and songs on the spot. The audience votes for the winners and a referee calls the fouls. The right is a photo of the stage where the blue and red teams will battle.

Half-time break...

The trophy eventually went to the blue team!
The show was really good!! It was very funny, the 2 teams were great!!! =) They really engaged the audience for suggestions throughout the show. Awesome!

After the show we walked around the area looking for a dinner place and decided to give this Thai restaurant a try... We did not regret our decision as the food was nice! =)

Me finishing the last piece of keropok, we forgot to take photo of it. =p We had fried tofu squares and satay for our appetizer...

YH had duck curry and I had Honey Chicken... It was the 1st time we seen duck curry on a menu and it tasted delicious, the duck was very tender. The Honey Chicken tasted good as well, the sauce was very nice!! Overall we had a very satisfying meal! =)

The famous Chicago Theater...

ABC News Studio, we managed to catch the live news recording...

Millennium Park at night, a different kind of feeling with all the city lights. Another thing is there are not many people...

Night view of some buildings...
