My Birthday!!

Hubby surprised me by bringing back a birthday cake when he came home that day!! =) Thanks a lot dear!! The cake was cut when the clock struck 12, erm ok think should be 12 plus, as need time to bring it out, prepare and take photos... =p The cake was bought at a bakery near Hana Mart, hard to find any bakery around here, except in the supermarkets. Anyway, the cake was in a nice box...

Then, it was me blowing out the candle. Very happy that they provide candles as the birthday cake I had last year did not come with candles. =p Anyway the candles were nice too and there are 2 different lengths, just like back home...

At night, we had dinner at Outback...

As usual, there's bread and we ordered an appetizer - Bushman ’Shrooms (lightly battered and fried mushrooms, served with spicy ranch dressing)...

 

Hubby had Ribs & Alice Springs Chicken (A 1/3 rack of savory fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs paired with a tasty grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, honey mustard sauce, sautéed mushrooms, Monterey Jack and Cheddar), served with Aussie Fries. The 1/3 rack of ribs was really small! =p The chicken was quite nice and hubby said he will probably order a full serving of this the next time. However, I think that we can try to re-create this at home! Well, let's see when I am in the mood to try creating it! =p

As for me, I had their New York Strip, served with seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. Not too bad but felt that the mashed potatoes was a little too salty! =)

After dinner, we went to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1...

Here's me queuing to enter the theater. One thing we do not like about watching movie here is that it is free seating in the theaters so you have to be there early to queue if you want to have a good seat. Well, we were there rather early as we had nothing much to do after dinner. Anyway, the movie was not bad but I think if you did not read the book, it will be difficult to follow the story. As hubby said, he felt that he was watching snapshots from the book. =p

This day would have been good if not for the accident that happened on our way to dinner. Well, guess we should be glad that nothing serious happened and we were both ok. But it sort of dampened our mood... =(
